The Way We Were

All of my life, I have wished people could be REAL and care, and be kind.

All of my life, I have found so many people are actually fake, and visually oriented, and superficial.

I bought into that when I was young. I pretended to be happy and that life was beautiful.

It can be beautiful. There are a rare few amazing people who are very real. They listen and they understand.

Okay, at this point, let's just deal with reality. Be fake. Be superficial. Put on the gloss. Make it all sweet and palatable, like candy. Guard your heart and your real self.

Sad, but true. We have to be fake like some goddamned marketing campaign of life.
